The reasons for economic growth, as well as the essentiality of international trade between regions, have been examined for a long time. In this sense, it is pertinent to think about the role played by Brazilian exports in terms of accelerating the country's economic growth. To investigate this relationship, this work analyzed the impact of exports of mineral commodities on the economy's product, during the period from January 2000 to December 2011, known as the commodity boom. Since in this period Brazil expanded its exports of commodities and obtained considerable growth for the time. For this, the Export-Led-Growth (ELG) hypothesis was tested, which states that exports drive economic growth by estimating Autorregressive Vectors with Error Correction (VEC). The results achieved indicate that the economic growth verified in Brazil, in the referred period, does not fit the ELG hypothesis.
