Abstract

This research aims to analyze the wage gap between men and women in the Brazilian labor market in 2020. For this purpose, data from the Pesquisa Nacional por Amostra de Domícilio Contínua (PNADC) were used. The methodological procedure was based on descriptive socioeconomic and demographic statistics on genders, as well as the estimation of a mincerian equation. The results allowed us to conclude that the income earned by women is lower than that of men, which indicates that even in 2020 there is wage discrimination in the Brazilian labor market. Thus, it is important to disseminate more research on the subject in order to influence the development of public policies in order to minimize gender disparities.
